6Heads take you to the Concrete Jungle to learn about Earthships for our August members meet

naturedoesnothinguseless

“Nature does nothing uselessly” and neither should we. So, come join, get involved, we’ve got another treat in store.

6heads & Concrete Jungle would like to welcome you to the Kids Venture Playground where we will introduce you to some members of the team, the project and the concept of the Earthship.
The concept of an Earthship, coined by Michael Reynolds, is a low impact building made out of urban waste such as tyres and glass bottles. Concrete Jungle and Kids Company have teamed up and are using this accessible method of building to create an arts centre for the the children and young people who use the Kids Venture Playground. The aim is also to involve the community in the build itself, gaining specialist skills in carpentry, adobe wall making, glass bottle wall making and much more.
If you would like to find out more about Earthships before your visit to the site, please watch this fascinating documentary about Michael Reynolds’ fight to get planning permission for Earthships in the USA
